About Hope With Sudan
Hope With Sudan was founded in August 2003 by Jerry Drino following his visit to Sudan and the refugee camps and settlements in Kenya. He was invited by Sudanese leaders and family members of Sudanese in San Jose, CA to visit the people in Africa and to see their suffering which has resulted from the civil conflict in Sudan since 1956. Jerry felt a deep vocation to help the exiled communities’ especially young people who were seeking an education.
At present, Hope With Sudan raises funds to support the education of the Sudanese living in San Jose, CA as well as sponsoring eighty children, youth, and young adults with tuition and living expenses in Kenya or Uganda. In a few cases there is at least one parent or guardian overseeing clusters of children. the vast majority, however, are orphans.
Our Mission:
Hope With Sudan provides education scholarships to Sudanese children, youths and young adults living in exile in Kenya and Uganda. In addition, Hope With Sudan also provides scholarships and mentors Sudanese Lost Boys and Girls relocated to the United States.
Hope With Sudan is a non-profit corporation recognized as tax exempt.
